Many many rumors have been flying around, from the rumor that New Years Eve was Furthur’s last shows, to rumors of Winter Tour 2011 be exactly the same as 2010. Ok, well the last one really just has to do with Furthur not updating the info tab of their Facebook page since last January (hey guys, I’m for hire…!) As for the rumor of NYE being their finale, THAT’S JUST A BULLSHIT LIE!*(that is what Phil told us at a Cal Expo many years ago, where the rumors were thick that he was leaving the band after the Sunday show).
They just announced their first (of what I hope will be many) 2011 dates, three nights in Broomfield Colorado, right smack dab in the middle of Winter!

I danced through all three sets and didn’t stop!
There was a large birthday card for everyone to sign along with apples to eat.
Balloons were dropped towards the end of the first set; orange and black for the Giants’ win! The stage was completely full of them and needed to be cleaned up!
Jackie’s promoter presented him with a special type of metal microphone which looks exactly like the one he uses. He was very humble and appreciative for our singing Happy Birthday and all of the other festivities.
When were handed posters on the way out. I am looking forward to celebrating Jackie’s 31st birthday next year! (~);}

The performance was top notch and kept me shaking my bones the whole time. This was also a trip back in time for me with my old friend, the bassist Kevin Rosen. David Gans played during set break and opened with a nice Lazy River Road.

Bridgeport, CT — Gathering of the Vibes, the Northeast’s acclaimed music festival destination, will “bring the magic” once again with a 4-day extravaganza of eclectic music, arts and community, July 21-24, 2011 at Connecticut’s magnificent Seaside Park.
Deadheadland was there last year, and had a grateful time. Really one of the best fests evah, and we go to a lot of festivals! Nice people, great vibes, and some of the best music ever. And all of it is about Jerry, in one was or another. Last year we saw Furthur and Rhythm Devils – there is always someone from the Dead family representing, this time we got all four of the core, albeit on two separate nights. I hope this year has 7 Walkers
What will be in 2011? Stay tuned! DHL will let you know as soon as we do!

Jeff S. on our facebook pager put this list together. these are all songs Furthur has done at least once. A few of these have been played during Fall Tour Pt. 1 (Eugene > Red Rocks), but not on Fall Tour Pt. 2 (Minnesota > NY).
Do you think any of these will be broken out at Madison Square Garden on 11/20 + 11/21?
They could do two full shows of songs they haven’t played in the last 9! There has been some repetition in the last 9 shows, no one is complaining about anything – all reports is that everything soared – but maybe, just maybe, mix it up even more? Someone talk to Jill!
And… if you were to create a fantasy setlist out of these songs, what would it be?
