Deadheadland TV PS Happy Birthday Nat!
NERSHIS. Nat met the Nershis when Hot Buttered Rum did some opening slots with String Cheese incident in 2004. Soon after, HBR did a two week tour with Bill and Jill’s side project “Honkytonk Homeslice” through Colorado and Utah. It was riding in the Nershi’s truck on I-70 that Nat thought of the song “Busted in Utah.” Recently, the Nershis and HBR did a six day music river trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho.
TIM CARBONE. Tim has been a great friend of Nat and HBR since the early aughts, when Railroad Earth and HBR toured together. Tim came out to San Francisco for a Concert Carnival at the Independent Music Hall four years ago. Tim has also produced the HBR album “Kite and the Key pt 1”
BEN KAUFMANN. Nat and Ben recently crossed paths while they were working on Kyle Ledson’s album, which will be released in January. It was opening for Ben’s band, Yonder Mountain String Band, that Nat first got to play at the San Francisco Fillmore Auditorium with HBR, and for this Nat will be forever grateful. Butter went on to headline the venue 5 times.
LEBO & BO. These are two of Nat’s best buddies, in no small part because their wives love each other too. Nat is always looking for an excuse to play in any combination with these guys, especially at ALO/HBR’s festival Camp Deep End.
T SISTERS & BEN MORRISON. Nat first met the T Sisters 12 years ago through his stepmother. The rest is history… Erika Tietjen and Ben Morrison first hit it off backstage at a Concert Carnival. Now they are married and expecting a baby very soon!
DANIEL RODRIGUEZ. Nat always goes to see and play with Dan when he’s in town. They’ve been friends since the early aughts, before Dan’s old band, Elephant Revival, or his current solo act, were huge! We highly recommend his new album!
JOSH BROUGH. Josh is one of Nat’s best buddies. They’ve shared stages all over the place… including performing the entire Graceland album at the Fillmore, Kate Wolf Festival, and on tour in the Northwest.
CALEB & REEB. Nat has always admired Caleb and Reeb from afar, and was thrilled when last year they all traveled to Todos Santos, MX for a big music throwdown.
YOSEFF & KATYA. Nat is in the band Lost Radio Drift with Yoseff and Katya. They played the Grass Valley Bluegrass Festival last year, and their premier album will come out next year!
BEATMOWER. This is Nat’s dance music project. BeatMower’s premiere, two singles, Kwishima and Universe, will be released in January! Keep in touch about online release party.
DAVID GANS MONDAY SHOW | LIVE FROM OAKLAND | MONDAY December 14, 2020
Gans performs literate, improvisational folk-rock with looping: country-blues-style fingerpicking; loop-based improvisations created live in the moment; sweetly-sung ballads, original or borrowed; Grateful Dead songs reinterpreted to suit his voice and guitar; wry observations of the music-festival subculture and the larger world; soulful and passionate political commentary; favorites from the folk-rock canon of the last 50 years.
