From The Fillmore’s website:

Visionary artist and impresario Perry Farrell announced today the highly anticipated live performance of his new musical venture, Perry Farrell’s Kind Heaven Orchestra, set to headline The Fillmore in San Francisco on December 2, 2018.

Farrell has assembled a dream team of musicians and performers to deliver an immersive experience of sound and vision. Says Farrell, “Bill Graham set the highest bar for the art of public assemblage at The Fillmore, and we pay tribute to his legacy and to San Francisco by spreading the message of light and peace this holiday season.”

Farrell recently signed an exclusive worldwide record deal with BMG to release his upcoming new solo album Kind Heaven, a musical scene-setter for his immersive entertainment destination Kind Heaven set to open at The LINQ Promenade in Las Vegas next year.

Slated for release in 2019, Kind Heaven marks the first solo album release from the former Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros frontman since 2001.

Conceived by Farrell and produced by Tony ViscontiKind Heaven features Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Mike Garson (David Bowie), Matt Chamberlain (Soundgarden), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Peter Distefano (Porno For Pyros), Dhani Harrison, Elliot Easton (The Cars), Joachim Garraud (David Guetta), and other notable star turns.  Sonic highlights include orchestral scoring by Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams, striking duets with Etty Farrell, and a first-of-its-kind sound mix by IMN Creative to create an all new music experience for fans.

A portion of the proceeds of The Festival of Lights will benefit the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation in support of the Bill Graham Menorah Project. Foundation Board member David Graham states, “Perry has the biggest dreams. And he realizes all of them. It’s an awesome gift . . . for all of us.”

The Festival of Lights will take place on Bill Graham Menorah Day following the annual lighting ceremony in Union Square. Also performing that evening is Balkan Bump, the newest project from trumpet player, producer and ethnomusicologist Will Magid, and Jerry’s Kosher Deli.

Show opener Jerry’s Kosher Deli is a jam band comprised of veteran San Francisco players Jordan FeinsteinBen Bernstein, Byron Rynes, and Greg Anton. They are the house band for the Bill Graham Menorah Day celebration in Union Square, as well as other Grateful Yid events. Playing a mix of Garcia, Carlebach, Reggae and Traditional Jewish tunes, Jerry’s Kosher Deli is “Home of the Jamwich!”

Jason Crosby and Friends celebrate his birthday “No Quarter > Shakedown Street > No Quarter”

I Jason Crosby and Friends celebrate his birthday
with a Led Zeppelin/Grateful Dead sandwich!
“No Quarter > Shakedown Street > No Quarter”

Jason Crosby and an all star line up of friends celebrated Jason’s birthday last night at Terrapin Crossroads. From a Zeppelin/Grateful Dead sandwich to his signature Nirvana /Grateful Dead Mashup “Friend of the Lithium”,  a few originals from various band members, and styles fro.  jazz, rock, country, Latin, alt-everything and more, it was a vast and varied set of musical adventures and camaraderie.

Terrapin Nation regulars enjoyed a very intimate show in The Grate Room, two very full sets.

Joining Jason, in the celebration, was an all-star cast of musicians including, core band, of Stu Allen, Dan Leibowitz, Steve Adams, Jay Lane, and Cochrane McMillan, and featured guests , Reid Genauer, Grahame Lesh,  Brian Rashap, Greg Loiacono, James Nash, Greg Anton, Danny Eisenberg, Scott Guberman, Elliott Peck, Connor O’Sullivan, Eric DiBerardino, and Alex Jordan, + other special guests i may have missed.

At the same time, the rocking Kate Gaffney Band, featuring New Monsoons Jeff Miller on lead guitar, was burning it up in the Terrapin Crossroads Bar, making for another music filled night in San Rafael, California.

A full weekend of music lays ahead og us in the Bay area, with The Mother Hips  at Terrapin Crossroads in the Grate Room Saturday night, Ramblin Jack Elliott at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley tonight, David Nelson Band touring northern California (Tonight in Grass Valley, Sunday at Terrapin’s Grate Room), Paul Simon at the Greek in Berkeley… And that’s just scratching the surface of this weekends musical choices.  Jason Crosby and Friends got us primed and ready!

Happy birthday Jason Crosby, I’m honored to be your friend, and thrilled you are such a big part of our local music scene &  community!

Jason Crosby, Lebo, Jay Lane will return to Terrapin Crossroads in June as part of the Doobie Decibel System (w Roger McNamee & the legendary Pete Sears!)  – tickets are only $10 (grab your tickets now!), a highly recommended show!
