Phil Lesh and Friend Album Themes Decoded? (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)

Phil Lesh promised some sort of Album related themes going on over the Halloween weekend run of shows at The Capital Theatre in Port Chester New York.

And now we know.

A big hint was dropped in the Poster by rock poster artist Mike Dubois (http://www.mikedubois.net/)

Phil And Friends Port Chester Mike Dubois

Music From Big Pink

Then hints are there…

over the first two nights,  American Jubilee & Phil Lesh and Friends integrated the songs from The Band’s “Music from Big Pink” into their set’s.

Grahame Lesh (part of this tour’s Friends) helps break it down here.

and Friday’s: www.deadheadland.com/lesh201311101

Obviously you can see the Big Pink house in the art.

Night three… we noticed another theme emerge…

+ Phil & Friends & American Jubilee played
Neil Young’s Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
in it’s entirety across 3 sets.

Notice the dog in the art…

Saturday: www.deadheadland.com/lesh20131102

Also notice the last song… I Ain’t The One?**

What does this mean for tonight, the 4th and final night of the run?  Believe it or not,  Lynrd Skynyrd!

It’s in the lettering. As much as it fits for a Deadhead themed show to have the bone-themed font, it is also what was used on this album:  Lynrd Skynyrd  (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd)

**” I Ain’t The One” is the first song on this album.

SO expect “Tuesday’s Gone” and “Gimme Three Steps” From American Jubilee, and the rest of album by Phil Lesh and friends tonight.   (sorry if this is a spoiler!)

Yes.  That mean’s, that finally all the mad calls for “FREEBIRD!” will be answered.

Phil has Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars on hand for some hot southern guitar licks being traded with Anders Osbourne, along with Grahame Lesh on guitar and vocals, Tony Leone on drums and  Jason Crosby on everything he can get his hands on.

Turn it on, and leave it on.
