Bob Weir w Steve Kimock and Friends
“Dancing In the Streets > Bird Song > The Other One > Bird Song”
Sweetwater Music Hall Mill Valley
Friday May 13th 2016
MILL VALLEY CALIFORNIA. Friday May 13th, 2016:
Bob Weir dropped by the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley California on Friday the 13th, 2016, to join Steve Kimock and Friends for most of the 1st set, and the opening of the second set of night two of SK&F’s 3 Night run at the “best little rock n roll club in the country” (plus 1 more set at Wavy Gravy’s 80th birthday on Sunday).
While fans suspected Weir to sit in at some point during the run, since Weir is one of the Sweetwater owners, and a frequent guest at the club, sitting in with a wide range of performers from Jackie Greene to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band… a hint was given in the shows advertising on Facebook that suggested VERY SPECIAL GUESTS for the Friday show…
The lucky people in attendance on Friday the 13th were treated to an excellent performance by what was more or less a RatDog line-up…Kimock and Friends features RatDog members Jay Lane (drums), Jeff Chimenti (keys), Steve Kimock (frequently SK has been RatDog’s lead guitar) and another special guest, Matthew Kelly on harmonica and backing vocals (from the original RatDog Revue line-up). The band was flushed out by the deeply funky Bobby Vega on bass (has BV ever been in RatDog?) and the incredible talent and presence of Leslie Mendelson on guitar and vocals!
