Weir Everywhere Dept! Bob Weir and pal Sammy Hagar join John Mayer’s San Francisco concert at #ChaseCenterSF |SETLIST, VIDEOS & PHOTOS!

John Mayer is on tour with his band, and played in San Francisco last night. He made reference to one of his new friends in the area, and brought out his Dead & Company band mate, big boss man, and chief, Bob Weir!

They played together on “Queen of California”, a John Mayer song. Then into Of course the handful of Deadheads in the mostly Mayer-head-land crowd were thrilled, and John’s fans seemed to know who Bob was, and clapped very loudly for him after.

They were an enthusiastic, but very polite audience. While there was some chat during the show, not much boorish, obnoxious, or abrasive noise, just normal chat. I had an adorable young couple on a date in front of me, wasn’t going to shush their cooing.

The audience knew the songs, cheered when they started, and sang the right parts. I must admit, I barely knew two songs. Overall I thought the second set way more satisfying musically (even without Bob Weir). I am glad this pop music fan base like *guitar* music!

I thoroughly enjoyed going out to this event, and while it was not like going to a Dead & Company show, or most of the concerts I cover, I had a good time. I will give a more detailed review soon! Enjoy the photos, setlist is blow, and a full video of set II at the bottom of this post!

Please share!!!

Bob Weir, Michael Franti, and Sammy Hagar,
played a brief set at the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco today, to support solar power and the rights of individuals to choose solar, and to have solar panels on their rooftops.

The crowd assembled early, about 150-200 people,  in the hotel courtyard with a small stage.  Representatives from Solar City and Vote Solar, and environmental activist Leilani Munter spoke briefly, and then introduced the musicians.

Weir, Franti and Hagar were joined by J Bowman, and played a brief (amplified) acoustic set, and then led the crowd on a short march out of the hotel, and up the street to the steps of the California Energy Utilities Commission, unplugged and singing the refrain “…Here Comes the Sun…”

The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, the legendary @SammyHagar and I will be doing a free acoustic set at 3pm in courtyard of the Hotel Phoenix in San Francisco Sunday, January 24th, in support of Solar Energy in California. There is legislation being proposed in California that would charge a monthly fee payable to PGnE, for all homes who have solar power, on top of their monthly energy bill. This would effectively kill the widespread use of home solar power just at the time that it is becoming an affordable reality for working families in our state. Please come out to learn more and show your support for the renewable energy revolution so our next generations can live free of the geo-political and environmental hazards of fossil fuel dependency. We should all have the right to produce our own energy without being required to pay extra fees to big power companies, it's one of the keys to bringing our 100% renewable energy future to life! #solar #gratefuldead #sammyhagar #solarenergy #soulrocker #spearhead #sun #herecomesthesun #rockthesun
