45 years ago tonight at the Matrix in San Francisco:
David and The Dorks
David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart.
“These rare recordings, from an afternoon rehearsal and a evening live show, capture this unique configuration performing a variety of Dead, Byrds and Crosby material with pretty good sound considering the casual nature of the get-together. The afternoon session is a great, fly-on-the-wall band rehearsal, as Crosby leads the Dead core through arrangements of ‘Eight Miles High’ and ‘Cowboy Movie.”

SAN RAFAEL CALIFORNIA – Last night, Sunday December 6, 2015, those in attendance at Terrapin Crossroads experienced something special, not exactly a rare and different occurrence at Phil’s clubhouse, but a one-of-a-kind night nonetheless. A rainy Sunday night turned downright swampy as The North Mississippi Allstars were reading for their second night in a row in The Grate Room, while Midnight North kicked off the night in the Terrapin Crossroads bar, with two members Grahame Lesh and Alex Jordan celebrating their birthdays. Alex’s father Jay Jordan joined the band for a sweet “Sugaree” that delighted the crowd, soon followed by Grahame’s father, Phil Lesh joining in the fun for “Cumberland Blues” and on Grahame’s original “Wind & Roses”.

Meanwhile in the Grate Room,North Mississippi Allstars Luther & Cody Dickinson, with new bassist Ron Johnson, laid down their swamp music, and were joined by Phil Lesh for some mind-bending jams. The brothers Dickinson ended the night by inviting Grahame Lesh and Ross MF James on stage for “Who Do You Love” and “Lovelight” as Phil & Jill smiled from the side of stage.
