onna Jean McKay (formerly Godchaux) was the only female memeber of the Grateful Dead. She sang with the boys in the 70’s, her husband Kieth was their keyboardist. Dona Jean has also done vocals for Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, and Otis Redding.
More recently she has been part of these bands: Donna Jean and the Tricksters, The Heart of Gold Band and the Donna Jean Godchaux Band.
