CIMG0499Topanga Biodiesel ShuttleNext year,  I would like to get a solar panel to recharge my laptop and MiFi so as that I can be more in the spirit of the event.    Topanga Canyon is Los Angeles’ original conscious-living community.  Topanga Earth Day Festival is about raising awareness and teaching methods of alternative living and being more in harmony with the planet.  The festival gave attendees the unique opportunity to learn about a variety of sustainable and holistic-living solutions.   I do believe their stage was at least partially solar powered.  The shuttle bus, which for some reason I never took, was bio diesel.

The show kept getting better and better, they played with great energy, and the crowd, while mostly seated, did seem to really enjoy Moonalice.   John MoloI spoke with a nice hippie, who hadn’t heard of  Moonalice, but recognized Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna) and Barry Sless (David Nelson Band, Phil Lesh and Friends), and was really excited to see them.  She was loving Moonalice too!  I think the tribe expanded!  Their “Stella Blue” was beautiful, featuring Pete on vocals, and Barry on both electric and pedal steel (Barry sit down!)

Drummer John Molo (Bruce Hornsby, The Other Ones, Phil lesh and Friends) was smiling all show, and he looks like he is having so much fun.  Really glad to see him in Moonalice, I think it is a great fit for him as a musician, and it makes him look real happy as a human too!
