SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (July 23, 2012) – Bob Weir’s TRI Studios today announced additional participating artists and details for “Move Me Brightly:  Celebrating Jerry Garcia’s 70th Birthday” tribute concert and high-definition live stream presented via www.TRIStudios.com and Yahoo! Music on Friday, August 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. PST

Craig Finn and Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady;
Chris Tomson of Vampire Weekend;
former Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia Band vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux;
Jim Lauderdale;

AND:  Sam Cohen and Josh Kaufman of The Yellowbirds have joined the one-time-only group of musical performers, led by Bob Weir, which also features previously announced artists Mike Gordon (Phish); Joe Russo (Furthur); Neal Casal (Chris Robinson Brotherhood/Ryan Adams & The Cardinals);  Jeff Chimenti (Furthur);  Cass McCombs; Jonathan Wilson and Harper Simon.

The broadcast also will include rare Grateful Dead concert footage and video tributes given by Garcia’s peers, including Mickey Hart, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Bill Kreutzmann, Carlos Santana, Dave Schools, Keller Williams, 7 Walkers with Bobby Keys and others.  David Crosby’s moving tribute, “’Cause I’m Missing Him Tonight,” penned specifically for the occasion, will be read during the show.  Luke Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Old School, Anchorman) will take a moment away from his day job to emcee the event.  Special guest Bill Walton also will pay tribute to Garcia.

“Move Me Brightly:  Celebrating Jerry Garcia’s 70th Birthday” is produced by Matt Busch, Laurence Freedman, Justin Kreutzmann and Chris McCutcheon.  The webcast will be directed by Kreutzmann, who has directed numerous projects with the Grateful Dead, The Who, Pete Townshend and, most recently, a documentary focused on Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

In celebration of Jerry Garcia’s 70th birthday, NCM Fathom Events brings “The Grateful Dead Movie” back to select movie theaters nationwide for a special one night event on Wednesday, August 1 at 7:00 PM (local time).

This Grateful gathering will include a special commemoration of Jerry brought to you by notable director (and Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann’s son) Justin Kreutzmann and an exclusive interview with guitarist and Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir, who will take fans behind the scenes of his state-of-the-art studio, the Tamalpais Research Institute.

Join  this special screening of “The Grateful Dead Movie” on Wednesday, August 1 at 7:00 PM (local time) to honor Jerry and kick-off the days between with friends, family, and fellow fans.
